Meet Sweets & Meats

Sweets & Meats BBQ is a certified women-owned business with the State of Ohio and City of Cincinnati with humble beginnings. Launched in 2014, Co-Founders Kristen Bailey and Anton Gaffney, were intentional about starting the business in their own neighborhood, setting up a tent in the parking lot of the Mt. Washington Creamy Whip on weekends, before landing a permanent home. 

Sweets & Meats launched their first BBQ food trailer in 2016. They grew steadily and expanded to their own brick and mortar location in 2017, which now supports all catering and events. 

With growing demand, they added additional food trucks in 2019 and 2023, in addition to adding a mobile trailer outfit with a 72" smoker and 48" grill for hog roasts and on-site grill outs in 2023. 

This propelled them to new heights, earning prestigious recognitions and accolades, including the U.S. Small Business Administration Ohio Business Person of the Year. 

As the business flourished, they have continued their trajectory of growth, solidifying their reputation as a premier caterer in the Greater Cincinnati area. In September 2024, Sweets & Meats BBQ opened their first dine-in restaurant on the main campus of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in Avondale. This location is very special to the team and is located inside the Herald Building, directly across from the Ronald McDonald House. 

As long-time residents of Mt. Washington, we consider it a privilege to contribute to our community. At Sweets & Meats BBQ, we prioritize supporting local non-profits, particularly those dedicated to children and education. Whether through financial donations, volunteering our time, or providing food and gift certificates, we are committed to making a positive impact on a regular basis.
